A 29-year-old man was arrested Sunday in connection with a hit-and-run accident that injured two people on Tacoma’s Sixth Avenue.

The incident occurred about 1:40 a.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Sixth Avenue.

The suspect rear-ended a truck, pushing it into a parked vehicle. Two men standing between the cars were injured, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

A witness was able to write down the license plate number and officers tracked it to a home in Parkland. Late Sunday, police found the suspect car in a garage at the corner of 131st Street East and 4th Avenue Court East and served a search warrant.

Fulghum said the driver was home and admitted fleeing the scene. He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of vehicular assault.
