A 20-year-old man who drowned in Lake Tapps Saturday has been identified as Marcus “Flyboy” Henderson, a Minnesota rapper.

Authorities said Henderson tried to swim across the lake about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, slipped under the water and did not come up. His swimming partner and people nearby on inner tubes were unable to help him.

Rescuers found his body late Saturday using sonar. A dive team recovered his body.

Henderson is the second person to drown in Lake Tapps this year. On June 21, 16-year-old Quentin Boggan drowned while swimming at Allen York Park.

According to Henderson’s website, when he was a child he would replay songs he heard on the radio continuously until he memorized them. His favorite was Jay-Z’s song “I Just Wanna Love U (Give It to Me).”

He released two albums: “Forever Ain’t Enough” and “Dream Catcher.”
