It was just before 1 p.m. when the man walked into the bank in the 22100 block of Meridian East, demanded cash, pulled out a gun and claimed that he had a bomb.
After putting the money in a maroon and black backpack, the robber left an alleged bomb in the bank lobby before fleeing on foot into a nearby wooded area. The bomb squad responded to investigate the suspicious device.
No one was injured.
The robber is described as white, 30-40 years old, 5 feet 5 to 5 feet 7 tall and 130-150 pounds. He was wearing khaki shorts, a dark gray zippered hooded sweatshirt, white gloves, a dark blue baseball hat and some type of bandana or cloth covering the bottom half of his face.
