A woman is in critical condition after a 20-year-old Auburn man hit her with his car about 6 p.m. today, Auburn police say.

The driver struck the woman – who had walked to the street side of her own car – and then ran into a parked car while heading south on J Street Southeast, police said.

The man waited at the scene and was arrested when police arrived. Charges are pending, police said.

Auburn police said they are investigating and have not determined whether drugs or alcohol were involved.

The victim in this tragedy is one of the brightest, sweetest, genuine women I have ever met. In the 16 years I’ve known her, I’ve seen her go above and beyond for others time and time again. Please pray for her and her family. And if you have something to spare, please donate!
