The Washington State Patrol is looking for witnesses to a head-on collision that injured both drivers on state Route 162 near Orting early Sunday.

The crash happened about 2 a.m. on SR 162 near 109th Street. It involved a red Pontiac coupe and a silver Toyota sedan.

Troopers have said the driver of the Toyota, a 53-year-old Puyallup man, crossed over the median and hit the westbound Pontiac, injuring the 41-year-old Auburn woman behind the wheel.

Alcohol is believed to have caused the collision, WSP reports.

Anyone who saw the collision or saw either vehicle driving prior to the wreck is asked to contact detective Trisena John at 253-538-3176 or trisena.john@wsp.wa.gov.
