Tacoma police are searching for a man who forced a woman into Ryan’s Park early Sunday morning and sexually assaulted her at knifepoint.

The attack occurred at 1:40 a.m. while the woman was walking in the area of 80th and South D streets. She told officers that a man approached her on foot and forced her into the park, where he assaulted her.

At some point, she was able to strike her attacker and he dropped the knife. She managed to escape.

Police said the victim has provided his description and a license plate, neither of which they have released to the public.

They told of this horrid attack yesterday on the early news… sure good she was able to free herself from this violent man. I pray she is in a safe place.

Maybe he is known in the area or someone whom she’s seen watching her before or has been watching her. The U.S. Justice Department has an entire Office for Victims of Crime:

They estimate for each woman “who has been killed, nine are nearly killed.”
