A Puyallup man faces vehicular assault charges following an early morning injury accident on State Route 162 near South Hill.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the 53-year-old man’s eastbound Toyota crossed over the median and collided head on with a two-door Pontiac traveling westbound. The driver of that car, a 41-year-old Auburn woman, was taken to Tacoma General with injuries. Her four passengers, including three minors, were taken there as a precaution.
The driver of the wrong-way car was also injured and taken to Tacoma General. Police blame alcohol for the accident and are charging him with vehicular assault.
