Police and firefighters responded to a suspected arson last night in the 400 block of East 57th Street, Tacoma police said.

Witnesses told police two cars pulled up, one drove away, and the remaining vehicle burst into flames.

Firefighters put out the blaze.

Police tried but were not able to contact the person the damaged vehicle was registered to, they said.

Well, I picked a fine time to leave this violent and strange neighborhood. My car insurance was cut in half once I moved away from Tacoma. I cannot believe how peaceful it is here. It is really a wonderful change.

Tacoma is QUITE mellow compared to a lot of other parts of the country…

  3. I don’t think there is a 400 block of E 57th… that would be right in the middle of Stewart Heights Park (I know because this is my street). I’m glad no one was hurt, at least.
