A vehicle ran off the road and into a building as officers tried to pull it over  for reckless driving about 8:30 Monday night, Tacoma police said.

The allegedly intoxicated driver hit a building in the 4300 block of South Pine Street.

A passenger in the vehicle was not wearing a seat belt and hit the windshield, suffering facial injuries. The driver suffered minor injuries from the airbag deploying.

Police arrested the driver for vehicular assault and booked him into jail.

Officers also found a  stolen handgun in the car.

The building was significantly damaged, and was inspected by fire officials before people were allowed to return inside.

Once again Darwin at work… How stupid can you be driving drunk within a half mile of the Police Station?

  2. Scottc51 says:

Sounds like it is the fault of the officers. If they hadn’t tried to pull him over for reckless driving, he would never have hit the building.
