A Kent man was critically injured this afternoon after being shot during an argument.
Police responded about 1 p.m. to the 22400 block of Benson Road SE, where officers administered first aid to the victim, who had been shot several times in the lower torso.
The suspect, a 26-year-old man who knows the victim, has not been located. He fled on foot after the shooting, which police said was not gang-related.
Officers are interviewing witnesses to the incident, and a motive for the fight has not been determined.
Although police said they know who the shooter is, The News Tribune does not name suspects unless they’ve been charged with a crime. The shooter is described as black, 5 feet 9 and 170 pounds. He was wearing a black t-shirt, black shorts and a grey hooded sweatshirt. He is armed with a handgun.
Anyone with information on the shooter or his whereabouts is asked to call the Kent Police Department at 253-856-5808.
