Drugs or alcohol were involved in a two-car crash that injured six on Summit Lake Road in Thurston County about 6 p.m. Wednesday, Washington State Patrol troopers said.

A vehicle approaching state Route 8 on Summit Lake Road failed to stop at a stop sign and was hit on the driver’s side by a vehicle going west on SR 8, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Both vehicles ran off the road and into the median. One rolled and ended up on its top.

The ages of those involved ranged from 18 to 26, and all were taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
