A man who was moving weapons in his home Wednesday night was killed after one of the guns discharged and the bullet struck him, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department.

The incident was reported just after 9 p.m. in the 6000 block of 176th Street East. Authorities initially believed the man had been cleaning his guns, but later determined that he had been moving firearms when one accidentally fired.

No other details were immediately available.

  1. FYI you’re suppose to make sure the gun is unloaded before cleaning

  2. FlyingTigress says:

A strict reading of the article suggests that the discharging weapons struck and killed him. I’m thinking that the object that resulted in his death wasn’t the weapon, but a load IN the weapon.

Old adage… Treat every firearm as if it is loaded – at all times.

You all talk about guns well lets talk about the life that was taken he was a man a friend a lover a son a wonderfull man who made a difference in people’s lives he was so full of life he helped everybody he sacrificed his own to help others god I miss him already.

  4. The use of firearms in self defense. How about the real picture?
TNT dig up some numbers or don’t we want to see reality?

  5. Clearly he wasnt cleaning them. He was an awesome man and kind hearted, He wouldve done anything for anybody. He was always so happy. Im here for his wife and all of his family no matter what… i miss him so much already.

  6. It only takes a smart person to be an idiot but once. So sad RIP! I wish his family well in their time of grief.

  7. He will be missed greatly by myself and many others. I don’t make a habit of posting comments. However this man and his wife are very dear friends of mine. So to those of you who didn’t know him and/or have nothing better to do with your time besides make negative ignorant comments please have some tact and think before you type. Thanks

  9. Ignore the tolls. It never ceases to amaze me the ridicuoulous comments that are posted when someon loses thier life. If it were someone close to them I wonder if they would make those comments but I never underestimate the stupidity of online trolls. All we are missing is someone blaming it on Obama or Bush.

If you don’t like the comments people post, why do you read the comments section? Make the choice to avoid that which bothers you.

  11. itwasntmethistime says:

And my condolences for all those affected by this tragic accident.
