Two cats died when a double-wide mobile home caught fire in Spanaway this afternoon.
Central Pierce fire received a call about the blaze at 12:24 p.m. and responded to the home in the 25500 block of 40th Avenue Court East.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze, which appears to have started near the kitchen and spread to the attic of the home, said Randy Stephens, Central Pierce fire assistant chief.
No one was harmed in the fire, and residents have not yet arrived at the scene, he said.
Fire investigators are preparing to examine the cause of the blaze.
