A 26-year-old Bonney Lake woman may have avoided abduction by calling 911 Friday, troopers say.
She told troopers that she was “afraid to pull over,” after noticing that a man in a black BMW was following her on Interstate 5 by Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The vehicle followed her when she would change lanes, and kept behind her as she continued to SR 512 and then SR 410, where it was stopped by troopers near the Sumner Buckley Highway
When troopers identified the man driving, they learned the woman had a protection order against him related to a domestic violence case in Lacey last month.
He also had a woman’s wig, sunglasses, black gloves and duct tape in the vehicle.
Troopers arrested the man on the felony charge of violating the protection order, and the investigation is ongoing.
He was on bail at the time for charges that included rape, kidnapping and burglary in the first degree while armed with a deadly weapon, and felony harassment.
