Tacoma police are investigating two bank robberies five minutes apart on Sixth Avenue this afternoon.

Officers have arrested one man and suspect he robbed both banks, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

The first heist was reported at 1:26 p.m. The man walked into Chase Bank, 6616 Sixth Ave.,  and implied he had a weapon. He got an undisclosed amount of cash and left.

Five minutes later, a robbery was reported at Bank of America at 6510 Sixth Ave.

The suspect was seen walking on Sixth Avenue. Officers captured him a few businesses down, Fulghum said.
