Tacoma police are investigating two bank robberies five minutes apart on Sixth Avenue this afternoon.

Officers have arrested one man and suspect he robbed both banks, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

The first heist was reported at 1:26 p.m. The man walked into Chase Bank, 6616 Sixth Ave.,  and implied he had a weapon. He got an undisclosed amount of cash and left.

Five minutes later, a robbery was reported at Bank of America at 6510 Sixth Ave.

The suspect was seen walking on Sixth Avenue. Officers captured him a few businesses down, Fulghum said.

actually this was pulled off successfully last week in new york city, but by a smarter criminal that planned it out a lot longer than then this nyc pulled off 3 banks in just under 60 minutes on the same 3mile stretch of street. and so far got away with it. this was an idiotic copycat attempt. tacoma’s finest

It’s good they caught them before they tried to rob the Coverleaf.

  10. Well in NYC you could blend into a crowd afterward. On the West End of 6th Ave it’s a sea of parking lots, you kind of stick out just a little trying to walk down the street casually after robbing a bank.
