Local clergy will gather Tuesday for a brief, spiritual ceremony at the South Hill home where two men were gunned down last month.

The Moment of Blessing for Travis Dennis, 32, and Jeffrey Poling, 36, will begin at 10 a.m. at Dennis’ home in the 9400 block of 175th Street Court East.

The men were shot in the head inside the home. Their bodies were discovered May 28. Investigators have said they believe the men were targeted but haven’t made any arrests.

The Associated Ministries sponsors the Moment of Blessing ceremonies at all locations in Pierce County where homicides have occurred. The ceremonies are intended to provide support for the victims’ families, friends and the community where the crime took place.

The ceremonies are open to the public.

What would really, truly help the families and friends of Dennis & Poling, is to put their murderer(s) behind bars. Why not have the law enforcement agencies put as much time and effort they spent on the the “click it or ticket campaign” from all those participating agencies in the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department and police from Fircrest, Lakewood, Orting, Sumner, Tacoma, Puyallup, Federal Way, Auburn and Kent and find the cold blooded murderer(s) of Travis Dennis and his friend, Jeff Poling. Our communities are not safe while murderers run free.

Yes, why haven’t they been looking for the killer/killers. I’d be mad as hell if one of my family members were capped like that and the cops sat around eating donuts.
