A 48-year-old woman was killed late Thursday in a three-car crash on Pacific Highway South in Federal Way.
Federal Way police report a Honda S2000 was going north on Pacific Highway South just after 11 p.m. The 32-year-old woman was driving without her lights on and with her 4-year-old son in the car.
The car went across the centerline in the 37000 block and struck a Honda Civic head-on as it drove southbound.
The Civic went airborne and landed sideways. A third car – a Honda Accord – struck the Civic’s driver’s side door, police reported. The driver of the Civic was killed.
Federal Way police suspect the woman driving the S2000 was either drunk or under the influence of drugs and arrested her on suspicion of vehicular homicide. She was driving with a suspended license but has no prior DUI convictions, police report.
She and her son were taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the Honda Accord suffered minor injuries.
The investigation of the crash closed the thoroughfare for several hours. It has since reopened.
