Local law enforcement officers will be camping out on the roof of a local doughnut shop this weekend to raise money for Special Olympics Washington.

The annual “Cops on Doughnut Shops” fundraiser began at 6 a.m. today, Special Olympics Washington reports.

Officers will be atop the Krispy Kreme shop at 4302 Tacoma Mall Blvd. from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, Saturday and Sunday. Officers also will be camping out at Krispy Kreme locations in Seattle, Issaquah, Spokane and Vancouver.

The officers hope to raise $50,000 for Special Olympics Washington during the three-day fund-raiser. Customers who donate to the fund-raiser can receive prizes from Krispy Kreme, from a dozen doughnuts to a doughnut party.
