UPDATE: Police now say someone moved the body from the house into a recycling bin outside before they arrived to investigate.

Police are interviewing the woman who lives in the house and her two teenage sons about what they might know.

PREVIOUS POST: Tacoma police are on the scene of a possible homicide in the 800 block of East 52nd Street, department spokesman Mark Fulghum said.

Residents of a house discovered the body this afternoon and went to a nearby police substation to notify officers, Fulghum said.

Police responded, found the body inside the house and called for detectives, who are requesting a search warrant so they can go inside and look for evidence, he said.

The dead person’s identity has not been established. A cause of death also is unknown at this time, Fulghum said.
