Pierce County prosecutors have filed charges against a 22-yar-old Eatonville man after he allegedly robbed two people at gunpoint Friday.

Robert Gary Ward was arraigned Tuesday on one count of first-degree robbery. He was ordered held in Pierce County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
court documents provide the following information.

The victims told Tacoma police officers they’d pulled over to rearrange items in their back seat. (Charging documents do not provide a time or location.)

A man, later identified as Ward, approached and asked for a light. The male victim got a lighter and when he turned back around, the suspect pointed a gun in his face.

The suspect demanded cash and threatened to take the victim’s car.

The victim and his girlfriend handed over the cash they had.

The robber ran down the street and got into a truck. The victim and his girlfriend followed the truck and called 911.

Officers found the truck a short time later. Ward was arrested inside.

He claimed the victim had given him money and a gun to buy drugs.

“Officers could see cash in the car, including some $100 bills,” court documents state.

Nuthin is ever good at dark thirty in the morning….dirty hands met dirtier hands…

  3. FUBAR: I’ve had to rearrange items in my car because they were sliding or rolling around and it had nothing to do with drugs.

dsutton: You missed the line in the article that says time and location was not noted in the charging papers.

  4. ginahopk says:

There is no evidence that the victims were trying to buy drugs. Sounds like the criminal who pointed a gun in their face a robbed them is trying to make the victims look bad so he can be seen in a better light.

Assumptions and judgments without supporting factual basis. Never a shortage of stupid people with stupid opinions in Tacoma.

  6. observations says:

well, he said the victim gave him money and a gun to buy drugs… a gun to buy drugs? just does not sound right to me…

  7. SoCalPunk62: You said a mouth full there but the club is not just limited to the Tacoma is far reaching and in just about every city in the US now. Scary!
