Fife police have arrested two people suspected of stealing the identities of more than 40 people.

Fife officers tried to pull over a man Saturday night in the 5600 block of Pacific Highway East. The driver ran to a nearby motel room, then immediately returned to talk with officers, Fife police reported.

Officers noted the man was acting suspiciously. He said he’d been renting a room at the motel with a woman.

Officers observed the motel room. Based on what they saw – and the man’s suspicious behavior – the officers got a search warrant, police reported.

Officers found a portable identity theft operation, handgun and drug paraphernalia in the room, police reported.

The man and woman were booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of 10 counts of forgery, 10 counts of identity theft, 10 counts of possession of instruments of financial fraud and other drug-related charges, police reported.

The man, who had seven prior felony convictions, also was booked on suspicion of unlawful possession of a firearm.

Looks like the mess that’s always been centered in the Hilltop area of Tacoma slid down the hill and landed in Fife…they have been spending a lot of time in the news lately!

  2. waxhvac says:

This has little to do with hilltop more than sleezy, cheap hotels, meth, 24hr gambling (bj’s & of course the emerald queen) and cheap cigarettes that Fife has to offer

  3. surveyor1 says:

What we need to take from this article is the that man had 7, yes 7 prior felony convictions (not arrests, convictions) and he is still wandering the streets commiting crimes.

A record of seven felony convictions? And this guy was still on the street and with a gun? I had a feeling our system was broken but this kind of thing has convinced me the system has been destroyed. Liberalism sucks!

7 prior convictions that ain’t nothing.I have a friend who has 35 prior felony convictions well maybe more than that.I have asked him why does he like it in prison.
He has a difficult time being free and not committing offenses. He is legally impaired (you could call him disabled if you want).Myself I prefer freedom so that’s why I never went to prison.
