Fife police are searching for the thieves who stole about 7,500 feet of wire, darkening parts of two streets earlier this month.

Officers noticed the street lights were out on Discovery Street East and Radiance Boulevard East the evening of May 6. The outage went through Five Acre Park, police reported.

Public works officials were called to the scene and investigated. They discovered that about 7,500 feet of service conductor wire had been cut and ripped from the j-boxes, prompting the outage.

Witnesses reported seeing a red work truck in the area the day before.

Anyone with information about the wire theft is asked to email Fife PD at policeblog@cityoffife.org.
