A man was shot in the chest and injured overnight during an argument inside an East Side Tacoma home, Tacoma police reported.
The man’s injuries were not considered life threatening.
A woman called police shortly after 12:30 a.m. to report that her friend had been shot and she was taking him to the hospital, police reported.
Officers found the two near East 38th Street and Portland Avenue. The woman said she and the man had been involved in an argument at her home in the 1400 block of East 63rd Street.
They were arguing about a recent burglary when the suspect intervened and shot the victim, police reported.
The woman said she didn’t know who the suspect was and had only known the victim for a few days.
No arrest has been reported.
Officers secured the home on East 63rd Street. Their investigation was continuing.
