Lakewood police have released a surveillance photo of a man suspected of twice robbing a Mexican restaurant and trying to rob another eating establishment last month.

During the robberies at El Paraiso and Church’s Chicken, the suspect has placed an order for food, police reported. He then handed an employee a note that demanded cash and indicated he has a gun.

The robber is described as black, 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 9 and 160 to 165 pounds. He has short hair and light-colored eyes. Witnesses have also said he’s missing a tooth in the upper right corner of his mouth.

The bandit has worn a gray-colored, half zip sweatshirt and carried a blue backpack during the robberies.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department tip line at 253-830-5064 or the front desk at 253-830-5000.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers also is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and charges filed in the cases. Tipsters may remain anonymous.

Reach Crimestoppers at 253-591-5959.
