Crews responding to a car fire early Sunday found more than flames at the scene.

Mountain View Fire was called just after 4 a.m. to the area of Southeast 328th Street and Southeast Auburn-Black Diamond Road because a vehicle was spotted on fire. When firefighters arrived, the car was fully engulfed in flames, the King County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Fire investigators from the King County Sheriff’s Office were called, and as they conducted their investigation, they discovered the burned remains of a body in the trunk of the car, the sheriff’s office said.

Investigators from the Major Crimes unit of the sheriff’s office are on scene.

This is a developing story. We will update it as soon as more information is available.
