Lakewood police say a man has robbed a small Mexican restaurant for the second time in a little over a week.

The robber has targeted El Paraiso Restaurant, 2510 84th St. S. The first heist occurred April 19.

Lakewood police say the same suspect returned to the restaurant Friday just before 11:30 a.m. He handed an employee a note that indicated he had a gun. (No weapon was ever seen.)

The robber then left.

The suspect is described as black, about 30 years old, 5 feet 9 and 150 pounds. He has a medium build and wore a grey sweatshirt with a black print, blue jeans, white tennis shoes and a black baseball hat. He carried a light blue backpack and had a “noticeable gap” in his front teeth, police said.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and charges filed in the case. Tipsters can remain anonymous.

Reach Crime Stoppers at 253-591-5959. Tipsters also can call the Lakewood Police Department’s tip line at 253-830-5064.
