One man died and two others were injured early Sunday in a one-vehicle crash on state Route 162 near Orting.

The three men were in a 2006 Chevrolet pickup heading eastbound on SR162 around 1:30 a.m. According to the Washington State Patrol, the truck swerved into the westbound lanes near Voights Creek (milepost 11) and struck a power pole. The vehicle ended up in a ditch.

Brandon R. Duprie, a 21-year-old from Enumclaw, was a passenger in the truck and died in the crash.

The driver, a 22-year-old from Enumclaw, and another passenger, a 22-year-old from Orting, were injured and transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup for treatment.

None of the men were wearing seat belts.

The State Patrol says speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash. The driver could face vehicular homicide and vehicular assault charges.

The driver of the truck is not being named because he has not been charged with a crime.
