West Pierce firefighters and Lakewood police officers will be hitting the basketball court Saturday for charity.

Representatives from the two agencies will be playing in the 8th annual Helmets vs. Shields basketball game. Tipoff is at 6 p.m. at Pierce College. A silent auction will be held during the game.

Tickets are $5. Children ages 5 and under are free. The proceeds will benefit West Pierce CARES and the Lakewood Officers Charity.

Before the game, firefighters and police officers will be leading a youth basketball skills clinic. The clinic will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at Pierce College.

The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 12. The cost is $40 per participant. Kids will receive a game T-shirt, basketball, keepsake team photo and an admission ticket to the charity basketball game.
