UPDATED: One arrested after shots fired outside South Tacoma night club

UPDATED at 9:54 a.m.

Tacoma police have arrested a 36-year-old man suspected of firing a gun into a crowd outside a South Tacoma night club.

The man told officers he was upset because his girlfriend had allegedly been assaulted inside Club Vanity, 5602 S. Washington St., police reported.

He reportedly fired eight to 10 gunshots outside the club just before 1 a.m. today and then left.

Tacoma police, Pierce County sheriff’s deputies and other area law enforcement officers responded.

The suspect”s vehicle was stopped a short distance away and he was taken into custody. He was booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of driveby shooting.

There were no reports of injuries from the shooting.
