UPDATED: Power restored to customers in South Hill

UPDATED at 11:15 a.m.

A faulty underground cable left nearly 2,600 Puget Sound Energy customers in the South Hill-area without power this morning.

The electricity to 2,588 customers went out about 8 a.m., utility spokeswoman MacKenzie McDowell said.

Service crews searched the area and found the bad underground cable. Shortly after 10:10 a.m., they switched the impacted customers to other power lines so crews could fix the problem without keeping homes and businesses in the dark any longer.
