A 2-year-old boy found dead in his South Tacoma home Friday morning has been identified as Noah Sanford.

Police arrested his 28-year-old mother on suspicion of first-degree murder after she reportedly called officers and told them she had killed her child.

The boy was found lifeless about 7 a.m. Friday in the woman’s home in the 3600 block of South Thompson Avenue. He was pronounced dead at Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital.

The Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office has not determined a cause of death.

Nobody else was in the home when police arrived at the house Friday, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said.
