UPDATE at 5:22 p.m.

A surveillance photo has been released of the man suspected of robbing a U.S. Bank in Fife today.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 30s, 5 foot 6 and 160 pounds with a medium build. He was wearing a vintage Marcus Camby Denver Nuggets basketball jersey over a black long-sleeved shirt with dark pants and a gray knit stocking cap.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and charging of the bank robber.

Tips can be called in at 253-591-5959.

INITIAL POST: Puyallup Tribal police were investigating a robbery attempt this afternoon at a U.S. Bank branch in Fife.

According to tribal spokesman John Weymer, a man passed a note to a teller asking for money. He fled the bank on foot.

Police are attempting to track him with police dogs.

The bank branch at 5580 Pacific Highway E. is on tribal land, thus the tribal police involvement.

The bank declined to give details of the robber or to say how much money if any was given the robber.
