UPDATED at 8:15 a.m.

So far, there are reports of snow flakes to the north and to the west of the South Sound.

But little snow has fallen in Pierce County. One reader reports a light dusting in Gig Harbor.

Dispatchers for the Washington State Patrol as well as Fife, Buckley and Puyallup police departments report no snow in the areas they cover shortly after 7:30 a.m. A light snow started falling in the Frederickson area shortly after 8:10 a.m.

The heaviest snow appears to have fallen in the Hood Canal area, prompting school delays.

Today’s forecast calls for rain and temperatures in the low 40s. There will be another chance for snow late tonight.
