Thousands are expected to attend slain Washington State Patrol trooper Tony Radulescu’s memorial service Thursday and Kent city officials are warning the public of traffic delays.

The service is being held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kent ShoWare Center.

The city has not yet released a list of specific road closures but said today that streets could be shut down from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Drivers trying to avoid the congestion are warned to use S. 212th Street or S. 277th Street when crossing the Kent Valley.

Since the Lincoln Park-n-Ride may be closed or restricted for event parking, commuters are asked to park elsewhere. Metro bus service will continue at the Kent Transit Center.

Radulescu was fatally shot Thursday during a traffic stop in Kitsap County. The 16-year veteran served his entire career in the Bremerton area.
