The flags at all state agency buildings will be lowered to half-staff Thursday in honor of a Washington State Patrol trooper who was killed in the line of duty last week.

Trooper Tony Radulescu, 44, was shot and killed early Thursday after stopping a truck heading eastbound on state Route 16 near Gorst. His accused killer, 28-year-old Joshua Blake, shot and killed himself on a Port Orchard-area property several hours later.

The lowered flags will coincide with Radulescu’s memorial service, which is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at the ShoWare Center in Kent.

Gov. Chris Gregoire ordered flags to remain at half-staff until the close of business Thursday or first thing Friday morning.
