One person suffered minor injuries Monday night after Tacoma police say he took part in a gang-related shooting.

The shooting occurred at an apartment complex in the 7600 block of Pacific Avenue. Officers responded to multiple shots being fired between members of two rival gangs, Tacoma police reported.

Officers found a suspect’s backpack in the 7400 block of South Bell Street.

A short time later, a suspect in the shooting was taken to Allenmore Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his hand, police reported.

Officers say he accidentally shot himself while firing at his rivals.

The injury was considered minor. The man was treated and released. He was then booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated assault, police reported.

I bet his gun was illegal. They need to put all those guys caught with illegal guns away for a very, very, long time and this sort of stuff won’t be so rampant. They have those guns for one purpose and one purpose only, to kill.

As an alternative, confiscate his weapons and then return him to the rival gang. Problem solved.

I don’t think any person who joins a gang has a very high IQ.

Handguns are made for killing no matter whose hands their in. People don’t buy them just for shooting targets at the range. They buy them to kill people.

There are all kinds of failures involved with young men/women becoming gang members. However, nobody wants to accept responsibility; especially, not families, schools, societal environment, economics(lack of training for jobs, and politics(politicians who grandstand, by passing mostly suppression legislation). Black African American youngsters, as a whole,do not know, whom they are,and thus resides most of the difficulty. February is supposed to be acknowledged as Black history month, but it is not likely that Black gang members know anything about Black history month. Aside from being a threatened species(hated to self-hate), it is not likely that Black gang members are doing any more nor less than committing suicide by “proxy.”) Black people who love themselves do not intentionally hurt themselves or others.
