Pierce County sheriff’s detectives took several items from Josh Powell’s storage shed in Sumner but “didn’t find anything that’s obviously remarkable,” spokesman Ed Troyer said.
He declined to say which items were removed.
Officers from West Valley City, Utah assisted with the warrant. Some are returning to Utah, others are remaining in Pierce County to attend Saturday’s funeral for Charlie and Braden Powell.
Pierce County sheriff’s detectives are serving a search warrant at a storage unit believed to belong to Josh Powell, who burned down his Graham-area home Sunday, killing himself and his two young sons.
“We’re not looking for anything specific in it,” sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.
He declined to provide a location but said the storage unit was discovered after the fire.
Detectives from West Valley City, Utah are assisting with the warrant. The Utah agency is investigating the murder of Powell’s wife, Susan Cox Powell, who disappeared from the couple’s home in 2009.
