Tacoma police looking for laundromat robber

Police are seeking help identifying the man who held an employee at knifepoint and robbed a Tacoma laundromat just after closing time Monday night.

The robber held up the Tops Laundry, in the 5400 block of South Sheridan Avenue, about 9:35 p.m.

Tacoma/Pierce County CrimeStoppersThe man knocked on the door and asked an employee for change. When the employee unlocked the door, the robber showed a knife and demanded cash. He fled with an undisclosed amount of cash and the worker’s purse.

Police said the robber appeared to be a white man in his 20s about 5 feet 9 with a slender build, a goatee and long light brown hair worn in a ponytail. He was wearing black framed glasses, a dark knit cap, gloves, a dark jacket and white shoes.

Tacoma-Pierce County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and charges filed in the case. Callers can remain anonymous.
