A Pierce County sheriff’s deputy was put on administrative leave Tuesday after being accused of a sex crime against a female child.

“He will remain on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation,” sheriff spokesman Ed Troyer said.

Tacoma police are handling the criminal investigation because the crimes allegedly occurred in the city. The Sheriff’s Office is conducting an internal investigation.

The deputy is 34 and a 10-year law enforcement veteran.

There’s more to this than meets the eye.

Are you suggesting that sex crimes against children never happen?

That happened when my family thought my older brother did not rape his 6 year old daughter.

    Evidence showed he did.

Of course nobody is suggesting these things don’t happen. I think Whitman411 is suggesting we not judge anybody until we hear the story. Believe it or not false accusations happen all the time. I read about a deputy a couple years back that was accused of something similar because his soon to be ex wife was looking to ruin his reputation and to gain graound in the divorce proceedings. These things happen as well. Lets keep an open mind until we hear some facts. PC Sheriff’s department is covering themselves by placing this deputy on administrative leave until the investigation is complete.

I remember about 10 years ago the TNT had a front page story of a sheriff deputy charged with having his son performing a certain act on him up until his son was about 12 years old. I had to laugh – here was a policeman with this outstanding public image – all the while what went on behind closed doors told a somewhat different story

and we all remember the story of Tacoma Officer Lee Giles:

Police officers are people, too. Putting on a uniform doesn’t make someone perfect.

More police officers are convicted of child sex crimes than all other professions combined. It’s law enforcement’s “dirty little secret”, and one we are committed to exposing. Police officers use their positions of trust to violate our children. Their victims are threatened with physical harm and told no one will believe their word over that of a police officer. Truth_Exposer…I linked to your facebook page to see your documentation proving your claim that “More police officers are convicted of child sex crimes than all other professions combined.” As I suspected it doesn’t exist. You just link to a bunch of news articles involing law enforcement being accused and sometimes convicted of sexual abuse. What a bunch of propaganda BS! It’s ignorant people like you that cause me to worry about this world. Give us your proof. Give us your documentation from nation wide studies. You won’t because they don’t exist.

  8. does it really matter if hes a cop, if it was your kid would you care what job he held? hell no, you just want that perv to pay, with his life!!

We are the only organization in the country who compile statistics on officer-involved child sex crimes. We are currently conducting a nationwide study by documenting the thousands of cases involving officer-involved child sex offenders. And our study so far shows that police officers are convicted of child sex crimes than all other professions combined. You can’t be serious. You make your comments based on your own organization’s stats? Sounds seriously biased to me. How about some independant studies? Oh that’s right, they don’t exist. Well my organization’s nationwide study shows that eating KFC chicken twice a day will help you lose weight. I own the stats and I blogged it so it must be true.

ccIngthar has a lot of opinions on a lot of subjects…then posts this:

“Are you suggesting that sex crimes against children never happen?

Maybe if this person instead did something about a crime as immmediate as this instead of doing silly posts online, that would have been prevents. Such things as this run in families and with the support of relatives to go long term.

What is going on with the charges being filed in this case? Is this going to just disappear like it never happened?
