Pacific police responded early Sunday morning to the 500 block of Blueberry Street Southwest after someone fired several rounds into a house there, according to spokeswoman Stephanie Shook.

Multiple people were in the house at the time, and one person was in the room that was shot at, but no one was injured, Shook said.

It appears that the suspect arrived on foot, she said, adding that a police dog tried to track the shooter, but was not successful.

A 4 a.m. explosion near South 64th Street and South Tacoma Way was a blown transformer, according to Tacoma police.

No one was injured and no fire resulted, as far as officers know.

Tacoma Public Utilities spokeswoman Chris Gleason said she didn’t receive any notice of power outages in the area.

A fire that started at a house for sale in Graham today is believed to be arson, according to Graham Fire & Rescue.

A neighbor called 911 about 8:30 a.m. to report a fire burning at a vacant house in the 23710 block of 63^rd Avenue East. Crews arrived and initially only saw smoke coming from the chimney.

It wasn’t until they were walking the perimeter of the home that they opened a sliding door on the back patio and saw “thick black smoke from floor to ceiling,” Deputy Chief Gary Franz said. “They couldn’t see anything inside.”

Five people were displaced this morning after a fire swept through an Auburn home, according to Valley Regional Fire Authority.

The blaze was reported shortly after 11 a.m. in the 300 block of Park Avenue Northeast. Firefighters responded and saw smoke coming from the roof vents.

Crews evacuated an elderly woman before knocking down the flames, keeping them contained to the attic.

No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.

The owner of a two-story warehouse that caught fire Sunday night and revealed a marijuana grow inside says he was operating a collective co-op, Tacoma police said.

A passerby called 911 about 10:22 p.m. after noticing smoke coming from the warehouse in the 2500 block of Jefferson Street.

After fire crews extinguished the blaze, they found evidence of a marijuana grow so they called police.

About 600 pot plants, ranging from seedlings to mature plants, were found inside the warehouse, police spokeswoman Loretta Cool said.

Also found inside were chemicals, grow lights and other equipment and pot in baggies. …

Pierce County prosecutors have charged a 20-year-old man who was shot June 19th while allegedly breaking into a Tacoma home.

Christopher Rhodes is set to be arraigned this afternoon on one count of residential burglary.

“The defendant was caught in the act and lawfully shot,” Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said. “Now, he’s going to be held accountable for the burglary. This case is another reminder that breaking into people’s homes can land you in the hospital or prison, if you aren’t killed.”

A 33-year-old woman who suspected her husband of having an affair started a fire in their house Sunday, forcing the couple’s children to hide in a closet and call for help, Tacoma police reported.

Department spokeswoman Loretta Cool said the woman was burning some of her husband’s items downstairs when the rug caught fire at their home in the 3800 block of East J Street. Her husband was not home at the time.

Crews are fighting what they say is a fire at a marijuana grow operation near the 2600 block of South Holgate Street, according to Tacoma Fire.

No one appears to have been in the two-story commercial building at the time of the blaze, which crews were called to at 10:22 p.m., Tacoma Fire said.

The flames are mostly knocked down, but firefighters are still working, according to the department.

The cause has not yet been determined.
