Some Pierce County District Court services move
There are a number of changes occurring at Pierce County District Court this month.
At the beginning of the month, the court’s administrative offices and public counter moved from Room 601 on the sixth floor of the County-City Building to Room 239 on the second floor. The public counter is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays.
The District Court’s Civil/Infraction Division will soon move from its location at 1902 96th Street South in Tacoma (it’s known as the Hosmer facility) to the County-City Building. The last day of business at the Hosmer facility is Dec. 22.
In addition to the physical moves, the District Court is also implementing work process improvements and a new organizational structure to save taxpayer money.
“We appreciate the public’s patience during this time of transition,” said Chuck Ramey, District Court administrator. “We have timed the moves to have the least impact on the public’s business before the court. Ultimately, locating all of our staff in the same building will enable us to operate more efficiently.”
District Court’s new mailing address is: 930 Tacoma Ave. S., Room 239, Tacoma, WA 98402. More information about court services is available at www.piercecountywa.org/districtcrt.
