Tacoma police are searching for a bank robber in the South End.
The Columbia Bank at 201 S. 84th St. was robbed just before 1:30 p.m., Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The robber, described as a white man wearing a white hat and white jacket or pullover, demanded cash. He did not display a gun.
After getting money, the robber fled.
Officers were chasing a green Honda that might have been involved in the robbery. The car crashed a short distance away, Fulghum said.
Two men reportedly ran from the car in the area of East 63rd and East F streets, Fulghum said. One has been arrested.
Sheridan Elementary School and Concordia Lutheran School have been advised of the police activity.
