Woman killed in crash near Lewis-McChord on Thursday

A 32-year-old Roy-area woman was killed Thursday morning when she lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a tree.

The one-car crash occurred shortly after 11:15 a.m. on Eighth Avenue South near 288th Street South in the area of Joint  Base Lewis-McChord, the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office reported.

The driver, Allegra G. Jeren, was taken to Madigan Army Medical Center, where she died of her injuries, the office reported.
