Tacoma police are still looking for two men seen leaving the scene of a fatal shooting last night.

According to police spokesman Mark Fulghum, a Tacoma resident heard gunshots at about 8 p.m. Friday outside his home in the 3400 block of South Madison Street.

The resident looked outside and saw a man lying on the ground and two other men walking away from the scene.

The victim, whom the Pierce County Medical Examiner identified as Terrance Sand, 42, was pronounced dead at Tacoma General Hospital.

Fulghum said Sand died of a single gunshot wound.

According to neighbors, Sand was living illegally in a house on South Madison that has been boarded up and posted with “Do Not Occupy” signs.

We have a rental house in this area & the house in question has been a magnet for transients. We knew there were squatters but who could ever imagine this? Very, very sad
