The Crystal Judson Family Judson Center has received a two-year, federal grant to help domestic violence victims.
The $750,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office on Violence Against Women was announced today.
“The grant is designed to encourage arrest policies and enforcement of protection orders by providing funding for partner agencies doing victim advocacy work at the Family Justice Center, as well as for other programs and services for victims of domestic violence in the community,” a press release from Pierce County states.
Susan Adams, director of the center, said the grant will help thousands of women and men seeking assistance from the center each year.
Located at 718 Court E. in Tacoma, the center provides comprehensive services such as safety planning and education, civil legal services, spiritual support, counseling and financial assistance for domestic violence victims and their children.
