UPDATED: Deputies on scene in Parkland after domestic incident, gunshot

UPDATE as of 12:30 p.m.: Brewis reports the lockdown has been lifted after a witness reported to officers that the suspect left the area in a cab.

UPDATE as of 12:15 p.m.: PLU spokesman Greg Brewis reports that the man was not located and the university is now in a lockdown.

UPDATED as of 11:47 a.m.

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies are talking to a man holed up in a house in Parkland. The man was involved in a domestic incident and fired off a gunshot, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.

No one has been injured.

“We are talking to him,” Troyer said.

The incident is about seven blocks from the Pacific Lutheran University campus. The campus is in contact with law enforcement but not in a lockdown, a spokesman said.
