Federal Way police are investigating the slaying of a man who was found this morning while officers conducted follow up on a minor car crash.

The identity of the man has not been released.

Officers were dispatched to the 30400 block of 28th Avenue South for a minor car crash just before 7 a.m.

They talked with a 19-year-old man who caused the crash and noticed some dried blood on his body and clothes, Federal Way police report. The blood did not appear to be related to the crash.

Officers checked the registration of the vehicle the 19-year-old man was driving. It was not registered to him, police Cmdr. Stan McCall said.

Officers decided to check on the welfare vehicle’s owner. They went inside the home in the 30600 block of Pacific Highway South and found a man dead after being stabbed repeatedly, police reported. No one else was inside.

The 19-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the slaying. He is being interviewed by investigators.

Investigators did not immediately know the relationship – if any – between the victim and young man, police reported. No other suspects were being sought.

Detectives are at the house and conducting an investigation.
