A 55-year-old Graham man was killed early today when he lost control of his truck and smashed into a tree on state Route 161 about three miles north of Eatonville.

The Washington State Patrol reported that Loren D. Dubacher was not wearing a seat belt.

Dubacher was going northbound on SR 161 when he drifted off the roadway near 388th Street East just after 1:40 a.m.

He hit the tree and was killed at the scene. No one else was in the truck, troopers reported.

The crash blocked both directions of SR 161 for several hours as troopers investigated what happened. The roadway was reopened about 6:15 a.m.
