UPDATED at 12:30 p.m.

Pierce County sheriff’s deputies have arrested eight people and recovered six stolen vehicles at a suspected chop shop on Canyon Road East.

One of the men arrested has been rushed to the hospital, Pierce County sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said. Deputies suspect the man took a large amount of methamphetamine before or as they arrived.

Deputies noticed the man getting sick as they were transporting him to jail. They took him to the hospital instead.

“He’s in bad shape,” Troyer said.

Deputies initially went to the house in the 11900 block of Canyon Road East on Sunday night for a call. They noticed suspicious activity and contacted the county’s auto theft task force, Troyer said.

Investigators returned to the property shortly before 7 a.m. this morning.

They’ve recovered five stolen cars, a stolen motorcycle and a stolen gun,  Troyer said.

“We got a lot of stuff,” he said. “And we’re still working it.”

The investigation was continuing.

We will update this post when more information becomes available.

Now that’s doing real police work!! Thank you, P.C. Sheriffs’, for getting this crap off our streets!

  2. CrazyJim says:

Stop putting people in jail for possession of an ounce of drugs and make room for car thieves to do 5 years minimum. And that’s just on the first offence.

Hurray. Eight less crackheads in our neighborhood. While the cops are at it they need to check on the metal recycling place down the street. That’s crackhead central for all our stolen property

  4. How is Washam involved in this?

I hope they took their time getting the one guy to the hospital. Good job PCS! It seems like so many of these thieves get away with it, and it’s nice to hear there are now 8 less of these scabs out there.

  6. Lets hear the rest of the story. The part of them being released on their own recognicance, the plea bargaining the charges down to a misdemeanor, then if they are convicted, sentenced to time served and an apology from the courts for the inconviences the criminals were forced to endure.Such as the court system in Washington State seems to be.

All you ppl think urray for them…. Well did u know that the police are just as much scum as we are? When they can envade your home and privacy without probable cause and no search warrant shown and watch you put clothing on while fully naked it be a male cop no woman cops on the scene yet you call that ok and just fine. Well let me tell you all something Its wrong!!! They should not be able to get away with this… What did they recover from my house? NOTHING!!!! Now tell me why they are trying to charge my man with the high end of it? they came to my home looking for a man who was supposedly part of this. He was not and still isnt allowed on our property. So tell me why he is looking at ten yrs
